DREAM WORLD CUP
“My first dream is to play in the World Cup. And the second dream is to win it”
Diego Armando Maradona
The Dream World Cup is the futsal world championship for people with mental health problems. The first editions took place in Japan, in 2016 and in Italy in 2018. The next edition will take place in Peru: it was initially scheduled in 2020, but then postponed due to COVID-19 outbreak.
The Dream World Cup is not only a big sport event, but has social and scientific values too. Teams from different Countries play together, fighting the stigma and those prejudices regarding mental health problems and encouraging the use of futsal as a therapy for psychiatric rehabilitation.
